Mindy Goldman is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). She serves as Director of the Women’s Cancer Care Program at UCSF, focusing on gynecologic care for breast cancer survivors and high-risk patients.
- Education: B.S. in Biochemistry/Zoology (1983), M.D. (1989) from the University of Vermont; Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology (1993) at UCSF
Her clinical expertise spans gynecologic issues in breast cancer survivors, menopausal symptom management, and multidisciplinary care involving breast/plastics teams for surgical coordination. She teaches residents and medical students while lecturing nationally/internationally on oncology survivorship.
Goldman co-authored the American College of Gynecology (ACOG) Technical Bulletin on breast cancer survivor gynecologic care and chairs the NCCN Survivorship Panel’s sub-committee on sexual functioning. Her research examines:
- Quality of life outcomes in BRCA mutation carriers undergoing risk-reducing oophorectomy (PROSper trial)
- Vaginal dryness treatments for aromatase inhibitor users
- Multidisciplinary interventions for breast cancer survivors
- Menopausal symptom management in cancer patients
She has contributed to NCCN clinical practice guidelines since 2014 and conducted studies on:
- Cardiac/bone outcomes in BRCA carriers
- Home-use ultrasound devices for vaginal dryness
- Chinese herbs for hot flashes
