Denise Renee Nebgen

Dr. Denise Renee Nebgen is a Professor in the Department of Gynecologic Oncology and Reproductive Medicine at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. She specializes in treating women with gynecologic cancers, including abnormal uterine bleeding, menopausal disorders, cervical dysplasia, ovarian cysts, and vulvar disorders. She leads the High Risk Ovarian Screening clinic, focusing on genetically predisposed patients. As Principal Investigator, she oversees the first U.S. trial on prophylactic salpingectomy and delayed oophorectomy in BRCA mutation carriers. She is also a co-investigator on quality-of-life studies.

Dr. Nebgen holds MD and PhD degrees from Northwestern University and is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is actively involved in professional societies, including the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Houston Gynecologic and Obstetric Society (Board member). Her clinical expertise and patient care have earned multiple recognitions.

Her research emphasizes translational and clinical advancements in gynecologic cancer prevention and management, with a focus on genetic risk assessment and improving patient outcomes through innovative surgical and screening protocols.
