معرفی
Dr. Minami Kawasaki is an Adjunct Research Fellow at the School of the Environment, The University of Queensland. She holds a PhD in Biological Sciences from the same university (2019), focusing on reverse vaccinology approaches for tilapia disease prevention. Her research spans aquaculture health, fish immunology, microbiota dynamics, and pathogen genomics.
Key research interests include:
- Thermal stress impacts on farmed fish
- Development of emergency vaccines for aquaculture pathogens (e.g., Betanodavirus)
- Microbiome shifts in crustaceans due to dietary changes
- Rapid genotyping of emerging fish pathogens like Tilapia Lake Virus
Her work combines field surveys, genomic techniques, and immunological studies to address challenges in sustainable aquaculture. Notable projects include investigations into Streptococcus agalactiae adaptation in marine environments and alternative feed solutions using purple phototrophic bacteria.
Publications (2013–2025) demonstrate contributions to understanding fish immune responses, parasite evasion strategies, and venom proteomics in pit vipers. Current research emphasizes practical solutions for disease management in marine aquaculture systems.
