Dr. Mina Lee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Windsor's Faculty of Engineering. She holds a PhD, MASc, and BASc in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo. Her research focuses on advancing sustainability and resilience in geotechnical engineering, particularly in infrastructure systems' response to climate change and natural hazards. Key areas include life cycle assessment of geotechnical structures, geothermal energy applications, and multi-objective design optimization. She is affiliated with the Canadian Geotechnical Society and ASCE Geo-Institute.
- Education:
- PhD Civil Engineering, University of Waterloo
- MASc Civil Engineering, University of Waterloo
- BASc Civil Engineering (Honours Co-op), University of Waterloo
Her research integrates environmental impact assessments with geotechnical design, emphasizing drilled shafts, geosynthetics, and transportation networks. Recent work explores reliability-based environmental impact assessments and sustainability-resilience frameworks. Publications span journals like the Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers and book chapters in leading civil engineering handbooks.
Her work addresses critical challenges in infrastructure sustainability, balancing environmental, economic, and social factors through advanced analytical methods. Current projects include 3D printed housing innovations and geothermal energy applications.
