Min Zhan is an Associate Professor of Biostatistics in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Maryland. She holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Waterloo and has extensive experience collaborating with biomedical researchers across nephrology, cardiovascular diseases, infectious diseases, neurology, and cancer.

Her research focuses on applying biostatistical methods to clinical and population-based studies, particularly in patient safety, biomarker development, and health services research for chronic diseases like kidney disease and cancer. Dr. Zhan has been a Principal Investigator for NIH-funded grants on tamoxifen metabolism in breast cancer patients and collaborates on over 20 NIH/VA-funded projects. Her recent publications from 2016 highlight work in chronic kidney disease mortality prediction, surgical outcome optimization, and digital health adherence monitoring.
As an educator, she teaches graduate-level courses and mentors students through dissertation committee roles. Her methodological expertise in biostatistics bridges clinical research and data-driven healthcare innovation.
