Min-Wook Kang

Dr. Min-Wook Kang is a Professor of Civil Engineering specializing in Transportation Engineering at the University of South Alabama's Department of Civil, Coastal, and Environmental Engineering. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) with a robust academic background and extensive research contributions in traffic operations, safety, and AI applications in transportation.

His work integrates genetic algorithms, machine learning, and mathematical modeling to solve complex transportation challenges, including red-light running prevention, dilemma zone protection, and sustainable infrastructure design.

Dr. Kang has authored or co-authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and a 2020 scholarly book titled Artificial Intelligence in Highway Location and Alignment Optimization.
