Miloslav Juráni serves as Assistant Professor at the Department of Theatre Studies, Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic, teaching courses including Theatre in the History of European Culture, Dramaturgy, and Forms of Ecodramaturgy while supervising bachelor's thesis documentation.
His research investigates ecological dimensions of theatre through ecodramaturgy and anthropocentric critiques, focusing on Slovak theatre traditions and human-nature relationships in performance contexts. This work bridges environmental humanities with theatrical practice, examining how stage representations challenge anthropocentric worldviews.
Recent publications 'Man in conflict with nature' (2023) and 'Anthropocentrism on stage' (2021) demonstrate emerging scholarly trends connecting theatre studies to ecological crises and posthumanist theory, analyzing performance as a space for reimagining interspecies coexistence and critiquing human exceptionalism.
Dr. Juráni currently participates as researcher in the university-funded project 'Current Challenges of Theatre Studies II' (2025), supporting student research initiatives while continuing thesis supervision for bachelor's candidates in theatre studies.
