Assoc. Prof. Jan Tlustý, Ph.D., serves as an Associate Professor at the Institute of Czech Literature within the Faculty of Arts at Masaryk University, Brno. His office is located in building D/D.510 at Arna Nováka 1, with contact details tlusty@phil.muni.cz and phone 549 49 7435.
His research spans Czech literature, literary and narrative theory, comparative literature, intercultural communication, and intermedial studies. Notably, he investigates literature's role in contemporary discourse through projects like "In the network of nature and artificial intelligence: perspectives of 21st century man through the eyes of literature and art" (2023-2024), examining intersections between humanities and emerging technologies.
Prof. Tlustý leads Brno City Hall-funded initiatives including "100 years of Zdeněk Kožmín" (2024-2025) and previously directed "Narrative Identity, Hermeneutics and Ethics" (2019). He has consistently contributed to student research activities in Czech literature from 2013-2020 and serves on program boards for Czech Language and Literature bachelor's/master's degrees, Literature and Intercultural Communication, and Secondary School Teaching programs.
