معرفی
Milivoj Bešlin is a historian and Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory (IFDT), University of Belgrade, where he founded and coordinates the Research Laboratory of Socialism and (Post)Yugoslav Studies (YugoLab). Previously, he served as a lecturer at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Montenegro during 2017-2018.
His research centers on the political and social history of socialist Yugoslavia, examining nationalism studies, modernization theory, Yugoslav federalism, Serbian-Croatian relations, anti-fascism, historical revisionism, and intellectual engagement. He critically analyzes the interplay between state formation, national identities, and ideological movements within the socialist framework, with particular focus on federal structures and reform attempts.
Bešlin's recent publications (2021-2022) demonstrate consistent engagement with Yugoslav federalism, the national question, and post-Yugoslav historiography. His work reveals trends in analyzing territorial organization, historical memory, and political movements like populism and Eurocommunism, reflecting deep expertise in Balkan historical dynamics.
He has contributed to fourteen scientific projects and actively leads YugoLab, which fosters interdisciplinary research on socialism and the post-Yugoslav space through collaborative studies, conferences, and critical analysis of historical narratives and their contemporary societal implications.
