Milica Markelić serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Cell and Tissue Biology at the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Biology, a position she has held continuously since 2012 with formal promotion to her current rank in 2023. Her academic career at the institution progressed from Research Intern (2008-2010) to Research Associate (2010-2012) before achieving her present appointment.
She earned her graduate degree in 2006 and Doctor of Biological Sciences in 2012, both from the University of Belgrade Faculty of Biology. Her educational background directly supports her current specialization within the Department of Biology.
Dr. Markelić's research centers on cellular and tissue-level biological processes, with particular emphasis on structural organization and developmental mechanisms in biological systems. Her work integrates zoological perspectives as evidenced by her office location in the Institute of Zoology, contributing to broader understanding in molecular biology and tissue dynamics. This research focus positions her work at the intersection of fundamental cellular mechanisms and organismal biology.
Based in Office 4 of the Institute of Zoology at Studentski trg 16, she maintains active scholarly presence through professional profiles on ResearchGate, Google Scholar, ORCID, and Scopus, facilitating academic collaboration and research dissemination.
