Iva Lakić is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Comparative Physiology and Ecophysiology, Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade. She holds a Ph.D. in Biology (2011) and graduated with distinction in Molecular Biology and Physiology (average grade 9.14, diploma thesis grade 10.00). Her research focuses on stress physiology, neuroendocrinology, and molecular mechanisms in animal models.

Her recent research (2021–2023) explores pharmacological interventions in sepsis models and insulin expression in the central nervous system. Earlier work (2011) investigated stress-induced neurohormonal changes and brown adipose tissue regulation. She collaborates extensively on studies involving animal models of stress, inflammation, and metabolic disorders.
