Maj Miles H. Ryan is an IMA Instructor in Mechanical Systems at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) within the Civil Engineer School. He holds a Master of Science in Architectural Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Montana State University. Ryan’s professional roles include Deputy Programs Flight Commander at the 319 CES, Grand Forks AFB, and experience in project management and wing operations.
His teaching portfolio includes courses such as WENG 563 HVAC Control Systems, WENG 466 Facility Energy Manager, and environmental management courses like WENV 175. Ryan is certified as a Professional Engineer (Ohio) and a Certified Energy Manager. His expertise focuses on HVAC systems, energy management, and facility design, with involvement in theaterwide construction programs and on-site course deployments, such as the WENG 400 offering in Guam.
Ryan’s professional development efforts include supporting credentialing initiatives like the AFIT’s Professional Credentialing & Licensure for Engineers (PCLE) program.
