Milan Poljak is a Full Professor with tenure at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Plant Nutrition. He has held this position since 2014, following prior roles as Full Professor (2009-2014), Associate Professor (2003-2009), and Assistant Professor (1999-2003) at the same institution.
Educational Background:
- PhD in Biotechnical Sciences - Agronomy (University of Zagreb, 1992-1998)
- MSc in Arable Crops (University of Zagreb, 1987-1991)
- BSc in Agricultural Engineering (University of Zagreb, 1982-1986)
Research Focus: Dr. Poljak specializes in plant ecophysiology and stress physiology, with emphasis on nutrient recycling, soil fertility, and sustainable agricultural practices. His work explores how plant nutrition interacts with environmental stressors and ecological conservation.
Scientific Projects: He has led or partnered in numerous research initiatives, including projects on sustainable nutrient management, soil fertility optimization, and climate adaptation strategies funded by the Croatian Science Foundation, EU programs, and the University of Zagreb.
