He has been employed at the institute since 2019 after previously working at the National Reference Laboratory for Rabies at the Pasteur Institute Novi Sad.
Milan earned his PhD in Ecological Sciences in September 2020 from the Department of Biology and Ecology, Faculty of Sciences, Novi Sad, with his dissertation titled "Ecology and significance of the red fox (Vulpes vulpes L.) and jackal (Canis aureus L.) as a natural reservoir of multilocular echinococcosis and other intestinal zoonosis in Vojvodina".
His primary research focuses on parasitology, molecular ecology, and zoonotic diseases with particular emphasis on echinococcosis. His work spans biomonitoring, microbiology, population genetics, and urban ecology, investigating parasites in carnivores and rodents, pathogens, and B chromosomes. This research provides critical insights into disease reservoirs and transmission dynamics in natural ecosystems.
