Milad Mirzaei is a Clinical/Research Medical Radiation Practitioner-RT at the Department of Radiation Oncology, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH), with a Casual Teaching role at the School of Physics, Mathematics and Computing at the University of Western Australia. He is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Western Australia, focusing on advanced radiotherapy techniques and their clinical applications.
His educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science from La Trobe University and a Master's degree in Radiotherapy from Monash University. Prior to joining SCGH, he gained specialized experience at several leading cancer centers including the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Gippsland Cancer Care Centre/Alfred Health, and Olivia Newton-John Cancer Centre.
Milad's research interests center around improving precision in radiotherapy techniques and reducing treatment-related toxicities in cancer patients. His work spans multiple advanced radiotherapy modalities including:

- Proton Therapy
- Advanced Treatment Planning
- Tumour Motion Management
- Adaptive Radiotherapy
- Image-Guided Radiotherapy
His recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on optimizing radiotherapy for specific cancer types, particularly lung and prostate cancers, with emphasis on treatment efficiency, quality improvement, and patient-specific approaches.
Milad has received the 1st Place SCGOPHCG Research Week Poster Showcase Award in 2024, recognizing his contributions to radiotherapy research.
As a member of several professional organizations including the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO), Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Group (TROG), and the Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT) Proton Therapy Reference Group, Milad actively contributes to advancing the field of radiation oncology and preparing for the establishment of Proton Therapy centers in Australia.
