Miklós Geiszt is a Professor at the Department of Physiology, Semmelweis University Medical School, continuing academic leadership since 2015. He has held progressive academic roles since 1993, including Associate Professor (2007-2015) and Assistant Professor (1997-2007), alongside international research experience as a Visiting Fellow at NIH (1999-2002).
- PhD in Cellular and Molecular Physiology (1998)
- Medical Doctor’s Diploma with summa cum laude honors (1993)
His research focuses on:
- NADPH oxidase (Nox/Duox family) enzymology and functional roles
- Mammalian peroxidases in tissue genesis and oxidative processes
- Intersections between redox biology, host defense, and cellular signaling
Recent publications highlight his work on:
- Molecular interactions in Nox4/p22phox complex formation
- Collagen IV crosslinking mechanisms via peroxidasin
- Epidermal growth factor signaling through Duox1
