Mikko Huova is a Senior Research Fellow in the Automation Technology and Mechanical Engineering department at Tampere University. His expertise centers on hydraulics, digital fluid power systems, and energy-efficient mobile machinery solutions. He holds a Doctor of Science (Technology) in Automation Engineering (2015) and a Master of Science (Technology) in Automation Engineering (2008), both from Tampere University.
His research focuses on advancing digital hydraulic technologies, including energy conservation in hydraulic systems, steer-by-wire systems for non-road machinery, and simulation-driven design of fail-safe mechanisms. Key areas include actuator control, multi-pressure systems, and wheel loader dynamics. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to industry, innovation, and infrastructure.
Recent publications emphasize energy efficiency in mobile machinery, fail-safe steer-by-wire systems, and hydraulic hybrid applications. He has organized workshops on digital fluid power and presented at international conferences, showcasing his commitment to advancing fluid power technology.
