Mikkel Jensen is an Associate Professor at the Department of Culture and Learning, Aalborg University, specializing in American culture, media, and television serials. His work critically examines how media engages with historical trends like deindustrialization and urban crises. He authored the 2024 monograph David Simon's American City, analyzing Simon’s TV series as reflections of urban challenges. A recipient of multiple teaching awards, including Teacher of the Year in the Humanities (2022), Jensen’s research spans TV showrunner methodologies, legal dramas, and speculative fiction. He has organized academic events like the 2024 North American Studies Seminar and participated in international collaborations, including a visiting researcher stint at the University of Wrocław.
