معرفی
Mikhail Raikh is a Professor in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Utah, where he has maintained continuous academic appointments since 1991. He was promoted from Associate Professor to Professor in 1994. He holds a Habilitation in Condensed Matter Physics from the Ioffe Institute of the Academy of Science of USSR (1990) and is fluent in Russian and German.
His research focuses on theoretical condensed matter physics, with specific interests emerging from grant topics including:
- Quantum delocalization transitions
- Extended electronic states in disordered systems
- Transport phenomena in nanostructures
- Cooperative emission effects
- Infrared field interactions
He received the University of Utah's Distinguished Research Award in 2008 for scholarly contributions to physics. His substantial grant portfolio includes funding from:
- US-Israel Binational Science Foundation (multiple grants 2007-2016)
- National Science Foundation (US-Germany collaborations 1999-2005)
- American Chemical Society Petroleum Research Fund (2002-2010)
Current teaching includes Advanced Mechanics (2023-2024), Theoretical Electromagnetism & Statistical Mechanics (2023), and Special Topics seminars.
