معرفی
Prof Mike Todd is a Professor of Pure Mathematics and Deputy Head of the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of St Andrews. He holds a PhD from the University of Warwick and has held academic positions at institutions including Boston, Porto, and Surrey. His research focuses on Ergodic Theory, Dynamical Systems, and related areas such as Extreme Value Theory and Thermodynamic Formalism. He is an associate member of the Centre for Mathematics at the University of Porto (CMUP).
- Roles: Deputy Head of School, Editor of Proceedings of the Edinburgh Mathematical Society, and Editor of the London Mathematical Society Bulletin and Journal.
- Education: PhD in Mathematics from the University of Warwick.
His research interests include recurrence phenomena, statistical properties of dynamical systems with holes, and the thermodynamic formalism for non-uniformly hyperbolic systems. Notable contributions include studies on entropy escape, equilibrium states for interval maps, and functional limit theorems.
Grants and Projects: Principal Investigator for the EU FP7 Marie Curie IRSES project 'BREUDS' (2013-2016). Active in organizing dynamics conferences and workshops, including the Scottish Dynamics Network and the Thermodynamic Formalism in Dynamical Systems (2018).
Labs/Teams: Part of the Analysis Research Group at St Andrews, collaborating with international networks in dynamical systems and ergodic theory.
