Mike Johnstone

Mike Johnstone is a Lecturer at the University of Gloucestershire, teaching undergraduate modules in Prose Fundamentals, Prose Craft & Practice, and Ideas, Inspirations, and Contexts, alongside postgraduate modules on Triggering and developing the creative process and Critical Writing. He also supervises PhD students.

Education:

• MA (Hons) in Sociology, University of Edinburgh
• MA in Creative and Critical Writing, University of Gloucestershire

Research Interests: Johnstone focuses on creative writing techniques, including prose structure, short story development, and literary theory. His non-fiction work explores European history, blending narrative techniques with historical analysis. He also runs a writing advice website to support emerging authors.
