Mike Ghedotti

Mike Ghedotti serves as a Professor in the Biology department at Regis University's Regis College, teaching undergraduate courses in General Biology, Anatomy, Marine Biology, Evolution, and Ecology, while also contributing to the M.S. in Environmental Biology program.

His research centers on ichthyology and marine biology, with specialized focus on fish anatomy, evolution, and biodiversity. He employs histological techniques to investigate deep-sea adaptations—particularly bioluminescent organ evolution—as published in the Journal of Morphology and Journal of Fish Biology. He additionally explores scholarship of teaching methodologies in collegiate anatomy education.

Dr. Ghedotti actively mentors students through hands-on research on fishes, crayfishes, and plants in Colorado and New Mexico ecosystems, providing career-enhancing experiences applicable to both environmental conservation and biomedical fields.
