Dr. Mikahil Sulaiman Azad is a Lecturer in Criminology at the University of Worcester's School of Health and Wellbeing, Department of Community, Social Justice and Health. He joined the faculty in September 2023 and leads or contributes to both undergraduate and postgraduate modules in criminology. His research focuses on Islamophobia, honour-based abuse, structural inequalities, and online crime, employing ethnographic methodologies in studies such as his doctoral thesis on mosque safety. He actively engages with communities, stakeholders, and academic networks to address criminological challenges and advocate for safeguards.

Research Interests: Mikahil's work integrates multidisciplinary approaches to examine the experiences of British Muslim communities, structural inequalities in education, and safety dynamics in religious spaces. His ethnographic focus enriches understanding of marginalized groups' vulnerabilities to crime and systemic inequities.
Professional Engagement: He holds membership in relevant professional bodies and undertakes external roles to bridge academic research with practical policy recommendations. He welcomes doctoral supervision in Islamophobia, hate crime, domestic abuse, structural inequalities, and online crime.
