Mikael Landén

Mikael Landén is a Professor and Principal Researcher at the Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Karolinska Institutet. Previously, he served as a Professor at the University of Gothenburg. His research focuses on psychiatric disorders with special emphasis on affective disorders, particularly bipolar disorder.

His recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on genomic discoveries in bipolar disorder, with significant contributions to understanding the genetic architecture of mood disorders. His research shows a progression from clinical observations to advanced genomic and proteomic analyses, with increasing emphasis on biomarker discovery and personalized treatment approaches.
