Mihai Ciobanu

Mihai Ciobanu is a Research Fellow and Research Assistant at The Cyprus Institute's Climate and Atmosphere Research Center (CARE-C), where he joined in July 2024 and began his Graduate Research Fellowship in October 2024. His work focuses on advancing multi-ionization mass spectrometry techniques to study atmospheric aerosols, including organic bases, ammonia, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). His research aims to elucidate aerosol radiative forcing mechanisms to enhance climate modeling accuracy.

Education:

• Bachelor's in Chemistry, University of Cyprus (2022), with research on polymeric material simulations and nanomaterial synthesis for optical applications.
• Master's in Nanotechnology, KTH Royal Institute of Technology (2024), with a thesis on nanomaterials for bioimaging applications.

Research Philosophy: Mihai’s approach prioritizes scientific contributions to human health and environmental welfare, bridging fundamental research with practical applications in climate science and technology.

Current Projects: Investigations into aerosol reaction mechanisms and their climatic impacts through advanced analytical techniques.
