Miguel Ángel Ríos Ocampo

Miguel Ángel Ríos Ocampo is a Researcher at Comillas Pontifical University’s Institute for Research in Technology (IIT), School of Engineering (ICAI). He is a Ph.D. candidate in electrical energy, focusing on energy systems modeling for sustainable transitions. His current role involves researching microgrids, power system operation, and renewable energy integration. He is also a member of the Energy and Poverty Chair.

Education:

• B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Technological University of Pereira (UTP), Colombia.
• Ph.D. candidate in Electrical Energy at Comillas Pontifical University.

Research Interests: Mathematical optimization of power systems, microgrid control, renewable energy integration, sustainable energy policies, and energy justice. His work bridges technical and societal aspects of energy transitions.
