Miguel Córdoba Ocaña

Miguel Córdoba Ocaña is a Research Assistant at the Institute for Research in Technology (IIT), affiliated with the School of Engineering of Comillas Pontifical University. He holds a Bachelor's degree (GITI) and a Master's degree (MII) in Industrial Engineering with specialization in electrical systems, both earned at ETSI-ICAI of Comillas Pontifical University in 2022 and 2024, respectively.

Research Interests include grid frequency control, grid stability, and new services to maintain stability in electrical systems. His work focuses on Power System Stabilizers (PSS), synchronous generators, and renewable energy integration.

Notable Contributions include a conference paper on PSS tuning requirements at CIGRE International Symposium 2025 and participation in projects related to balancing needs in the Spanish electricity system and excitation system performance analysis for nuclear power plants.

Scientific Awards:

• 3rd Best TFM award (2024) by IEEE Power and Energy Society for his 3-minute thesis on PSS tuning requirements
