Miguel Gonçalves

Miguel Gonçalves is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Catholic University of Portugal. With a PhD in Portuguese Linguistics, he has held leadership roles including Director of the Faculty of Philosophy, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences, and President of the Bracara Augusta Foundation. He also coordinates the Research Line in Interdisciplinary Studies at the Center for Philosophical and Humanistic Studies (CEFH) and has led academic programs in Information Sciences and Documentation.

• Education: PhD in Humanities (Portuguese Linguistics) from the Catholic University of Portugal.

Research interests span language sciences and communication sciences, focusing on Portuguese phonetics, phonology, and morphology, as well as pragmatics, discourse analysis, and communication theory. His work also explores interdisciplinary themes like death symbolism in Portuguese culture and pedagogical approaches to acoustic studies.

Notable projects include Systematic Review on Adolescence and Psychology (2020-2025) and collaborative works on figurations of death and narratives of female power. He has organized major conferences like the International Congress of the Kingdom of Shadows and contributed to journals such as the Portuguese Journal of Humanities, where he served as Director of the Editorial Board.
