Paulo C. Dias

Paulo C. Dias serves as Associate Professor and Psychology Course Coordinator at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences, Catholic University of Portugal. He directs the “Cognition, intersubjectivity and human development” research line at the Center of Philosophical and Humanistic Studies (CEFH), with extensive involvement in national and European-funded projects since 2009.

Holding a PhD in Health Psychology and master’s in Educational Sciences, his academic journey bridges clinical practice and educational innovation. His research portfolio demonstrates consistent evolution from foundational work in educational psychology toward contemporary intersections of digital technology, well-being, and inclusive pedagogy.

Dias’ scholarly output reveals three dominant trajectories: (1) psychometric development of psychological scales for cross-cultural contexts, (2) systematic investigations into substance abuse prevention and gambling interventions, and (3) pioneering work on project-based learning implementation in Portuguese education systems. His recent publications increasingly integrate digital methodologies with traditional psychological frameworks.

As principal investigator for multiple EU-funded initiatives, Dias has secured significant research support for projects addressing plagiarism in secondary education, adolescent substance use prevention, and teacher training innovations. His leadership extends to coordinating the RESTART4EDU project focused on digital-era pedagogical transformation.
