معرفی
Professor Mietek Jaroniec is a distinguished academic in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Kent State University. His research focuses on interfacial chemistry, nanoporous materials, and their applications in catalysis, environmental remediation, and energy storage. He holds a Ph.D. from Maria Curie-Sklodowska University (Poland, 1976).
His work emphasizes the synthesis, characterization, and functionalization of ordered mesoporous materials (OMM) such as silicas, carbons, and oxides. Key areas include adsorption processes, photocatalytic systems, and sustainable energy technologies. Notably, he has pioneered mechanochemical methods for synthesizing nanoporous materials with tailored properties.
Professor Jaroniec's contributions have been recognized with awards like the Marie Curie Award. His research group collaborates on projects involving carbon spheres, photocatalysts, and hydrogen storage solutions. Ongoing efforts explore advanced materials for CO2 capture and water electrolysis, addressing global energy and environmental challenges.
His lab at Kent State University integrates thermal analysis, XRD, and microscopy to study material properties. He has authored over 400 publications, with recent works focusing on defect-engineered photocatalysts and corrosion-resistant electrocatalysts for large-scale systems.
