معرفی
Mickaël Orantin is a CNRS Research Fellow affiliated with the Centre de Recherches Historiques at EHESS. His work focuses on the indigenous populations of the Spanish Empire, particularly the Guarani in the Jesuit missions of Paraguay during the 17th and 11th centuries, with an emphasis on deconstructing essentialized narratives through ethnolinguistic and historical analysis.
Orantin's research integrates colonial Guarani language sources and European documents to examine work practices, kinship structures, and the sustainability of evangelization in Jesuit missions. His current project involves creating a database of 18th-century mission censuses to analyze indigenous family permanence and missionary economic models.
His publications bridge history, anthropology, and linguistics, addressing topics like commercial exchange lexicons, poverty discourses, and kinship dynamics. Articles span 2020–2024, reflecting consistent engagement with Guarani ethnography and interdisciplinary methodologies.
