Michiel Steeman

Dr. Michiel Steeman is a Professor and Research Fellow in Supply Chain Finance at Windesheim University of Applied Sciences since 2013. He founded the Supply Chain Finance Community, collaborating with over 30 business schools globally, and chairs the Partnership Foundation. His research explores how large corporations can optimize financial supply chains to benefit SMEs, integrate ESG principles, and advance circularity.

Education: Graduated in Financial Economics from Erasmus University (1999), earned a PhD from Nyenrode Business University (2020) with a thesis on Supply Chain Finance Schemes.

Key initiatives include launching a business simulation tool for supply chain professionals (2012) and pioneering the Rainbow Homes franchise model through the Partnership Foundation, providing scalable housing solutions for street children in India.

Leadership roles include former executive committee member of Factors Chain International (2009–2012) and global advocacy for supply chain finance standardization.
