Michelle Scott serves as Adjunct Faculty in the Rehabilitation Sciences and Wellness Department at the University of New Haven's School of Health Sciences. With over two decades of experience in the fitness industry since 2000, she brings extensive practical expertise to her academic role.
Her educational background includes a B.S. in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from Central Connecticut State University (CCSU), earned in 2005 following an internship at Danbury Hospital's Pulmonary Rehabilitation program. Her career spans corporate, nonprofit, and campus recreation settings, including a significant role as Assistant Director for ChargerREC at the University of New Haven from 2007-2014.
Michelle's professional interests focus on exercise science, health promotion, diabetes education, and pulmonary rehabilitation. After taking time away to raise her son, she returned to the workforce as a Group Fitness Instructor and Diabetes Educator at her local YMCA while resuming her academic role at the University of New Haven.
Her career demonstrates a consistent commitment to improving physical health through exercise, which began during her college years and has guided her professional journey ever since. She has expressed enthusiasm about returning to the University of New Haven, stating she is 'thrilled to be back.'
