Michelle Picard is a Professor and Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Teaching Innovation) at Flinders University. She has over three decades of experience in Higher Education and Applied Linguistics, spanning roles from teaching to senior leadership. Her work focuses on academic literacy, TESOL, and online/blended learning.
- PhD in Higher Education/Applied Linguistics, Rhodes University
- MA/MEd in ESL, Rhodes University
- BA in English and Drama, Pretoria University
Her research interests center on academic literacy development, TESOL, academic integrity, and equity and inclusion in higher education. She advocates for student-centered pedagogies and the use of educational technologies to enhance learning outcomes. Her recent publications examine collaborative learning models, neurodivergent student inclusion, and cross-cultural language instruction.
