Michelle Parks

Michelle Parks is a Practitioner/Lecturer in Curriculum & Pedagogy at the University of Tasmania's School of Education, focusing on pre-service teacher development, teacher identity formation, and the implementation of Teacher Performance Assessment (GTPA). She coordinates the Australian Government-mandated GTPA program and teaches in the Bachelor and Master of Education programs.

Research examines motivations for teaching careers, factors influencing teacher retention, and the impact of trauma-informed practices in education. Current projects investigate pre-service teachers' experiences with performance assessments and embedded trauma-informed curriculum approaches.

Received multiple teaching excellence awards including Teaching Merit Certificates, Award nominations, and team recognition for contributions to student learning. Research has been disseminated through national GTPA symposiums and peer-reviewed publications on teacher development.

Supervises doctoral candidates and leads projects on trauma-informed communities and STEM education transitions. Coordinates professional experience programs and teaches courses on educational support practices.
