Michelle Parks is a Practitioner/Lecturer in Curriculum & Pedagogy at the University of Tasmania's School of Education, focusing on pre-service teacher development, teacher identity formation, and the implementation of Teacher Performance Assessment (GTPA). She coordinates the Australian Government-mandated GTPA program and teaches in the Bachelor and Master of Education programs.
Research examines motivations for teaching careers, factors influencing teacher retention, and the impact of trauma-informed practices in education. Current projects investigate pre-service teachers' experiences with performance assessments and embedded trauma-informed curriculum approaches.
