Dr. Michelle Ng Gong is a Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology & Population Health at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and serves as Chief of Critical Care Medicine, Chief of Pulmonary Medicine, and Director of Critical Care Research at Montefiore Medical Center. She joined the Einstein/Montefiore faculty in July 2009 after prior roles at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Brigham & Women's Hospital.
- Education: Engineering degree (University of Pennsylvania), MD (Yale University School of Medicine), Master’s in Clinical Epidemiology (Harvard School of Public Health)
Her research focuses on critical care delivery, acute respiratory failure, ARDS, delirium prevention, severe influenza treatment, and healthcare informatics. She has led NIH-funded studies for over 20 years and contributed to the Surviving Sepsis Guidelines for COVID-19 management.
Dr. Gong has pioneered clinical process improvements at Montefiore, including sedation protocols and AI-driven risk prediction tools, reducing ICU complications and costs. She co-leads the NHLBI-funded PETAL Clinical Trials Network center in New York.
