Michelle Magee is a Research Fellow at Monash University's School of Psychological Sciences within the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences. She also holds an Honorary Research Fellow position at the University of Melbourne and previously served as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Institute for Breathing and Sleep (IBAS). Her work focuses on circadian rhythms, sleep disorders, shift work physiology, neurobehavioral performance, digital health monitoring, and speech analysis. Key projects include evaluating CircWatch for Delayed Sleep-Wake Phase Disorder and investigating melatonin treatment responses linked to PERIOD3 gene polymorphisms.
Her research contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being. Notable collaborations involve institutions like the European Sleep Research Society and projects addressing shift work adaptation and driver state monitoring. Michelle has received awards including the ESA Travel Grant (2009), European Sleep Research Society Fellowship (2016), and multiple travel grants supporting her work.
