Bjørn Bjorvatn is a Professor at the Department of Global Health and Community Medicine at the University of Bergen (UiB), holding a 50% position since 2002. He serves as Project Manager of PraksisNett (Research Network in Primary Health Care) and is a member of the research group SMIL. Additionally, he is Head of the Center for Sleep Medicine at Haukeland University Hospital and Manager of the National Competence Service for Sleep Disorders (SOVno).
His educational background includes:

- PhD in Serotonin and the sleep/wake cycle from Department of Physiology, University of Bergen (1995)
