Michelle Magalong is an Assistant Professor in the Historic Preservation program at the University of Maryland's School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation. She is also affiliate faculty in Asian American Studies, Urban Studies and Planning, and American Studies. Previously, she served as a Presidential Postdoctoral Fellow at the same institution and as President of Asian and Pacific Islander Americans in Historic Preservation (APIAHiP). Her work focuses on equity in historic preservation, community-driven planning, and policy advocacy for underrepresented groups.

Her contributions to the field were recognized in 2018 with the 40 Under 40: People Saving Places award from the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
