Dr. Michelle Henry Barton is a Professor and the Fuller E. Callaway Endowed Chair at the University of Georgia's College of Veterinary Medicine. She serves as Assistant Dean of Clinical Academic Affairs, overseeing third and fourth-year veterinary student programs. Her roles include clinical service in the Large Animal Teaching Hospital and teaching responsibilities in large animal medicine and cardiology. Dr. Barton is a Josiah Meigs Distinguished Teaching Professor and holds leadership positions in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM), including former Specialty President for Large Animal Internal Medicine and current Ombudsman.

Her research focuses on large animal cardiology, neonatology, endotoxemia, and sepsis. She teaches courses such as LAMS 5150 (Physical Diagnosis), LAMS 5350 (Large Animal Digestive Diseases), and SAMS 5220 (Polysystemic Diseases). Dr. Barton's career combines clinical practice, academic leadership, and distinguished teaching recognition.
