Michelle Doll is an adjunct professor at New Jersey City University, concurrently maintaining an active career as a professional artist. She holds a BFA from Kent State University (1999) and an MFA from New York Academy of Art (2006). Her studio practice in Hoboken, NJ focuses on figurative oil paintings exploring intimate human connections, with recurring themes of family dynamics, femininity, desire, and personal introspection.
Her artistic research examines contemporary interpretations of intimacy through figurative genre painting, employing traditional oil techniques to capture psychologically nuanced moments. Primary fields include portraiture, contemporary realism, and narrative art.
