Michelle Carey

Dr. Michelle Carey is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine (Endocrinology) at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She is affiliated with the Einstein Global Diabetes Institute, focusing on global diabetes research and education. Education:

• M.D. cum laude and Master of Public Health from Boston University School of Medicine
• Internal Medicine Residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center
• Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism Fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center

Research Focus: Dr. Carey investigates mechanisms of hypoglycemia-associated autonomic failure, hepatic glucose production regulation in diabetes, and the roles of nutritional deficiencies and adipose tissue inflammation in insulin resistance. Her work aligns with the Einstein Global Diabetes Institute’s mission to combat the global diabetes epidemic through research and education.
