Michelle Bellon is an Associate Professor in the Disability and Community Inclusion Unit at Flinders University's College of Nursing and Health Sciences. She serves as Course Coordinator for the Bachelor of Disability and Developmental Education and holds a joint appointment as Research Lead with the South Australian Intellectual Disability Health Service (SAIDHS). Her 20+ year career began as a Developmental Educator supporting adults with acquired brain injury.
Research Focus: Her work spans epilepsy, acquired brain injury, intellectual disability, family/caregiver supports, and healthcare access for people with disabilities. She employs co-design methodologies and maintains collaborations with Cancer Council SA, Epilepsy Australia, and international universities.

- 2024-2026: $180,468 (LSA) for primary care coordination models
- 2021-2023: $100,000 for NACBO capacity-building evaluation
- 2017-2019: $155,000 (LSA) for family-directed TBI behavior support

Awards:
2010 International Bureau of Epilepsy Award, 2003 Epilepsy Association Research Scholarship.
Supervision: Successfully supervised 7 PhD candidates and 8 Master's students. Current roles include Vice President of Developmental Educators Australia Inc and Expert Review Panel member for Lifetime Support Authority.
