Michele Wick serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at Smith College, where she investigates the psychological dimensions of climate change through interdisciplinary research and public communication.
Her educational background includes a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a B.S. from Cornell University. She maintains licensure as a clinical psychologist in Massachusetts and began her career in college mental health counseling.
Wick's research spans Environmental Psychology and Climate Change Psychology, examining risk perception, behavioral drivers of climate change, psychosocial impacts, adaptation strategies, and psychological barriers to climate action. She actively translates academic findings for broader audiences through her Anthropocene Mind blog on Psychology Today, demonstrating strong commitment to science communication.
