Michele King

Michele King is an Associate Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London's Language Centre within the School of Languages, Linguistics and Film. Holding an MEd in Applied Linguistics, she currently convenes the English Language and Study Skills module for the Pre-Master's Programme, preparing international students for postgraduate academic work.

With extensive international experience, King has taught English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and English for Academic Purposes (EAP) at institutions including Universidad Centro-Occidental Lisandro Alvarado in Venezuela, the Arts University in Bournemouth, and University College London. Her professional background spans both Latin American and UK higher education contexts.

Her research focuses on how student subject positions affect target language appropriation and the reconfiguration of assessments in digital environments. These interconnected interests address contemporary challenges in language education, particularly regarding student identity formation and technological adaptation in academic settings. The Language Centre where she works offers comprehensive language support across Queen Mary University, including specialized programs like Critical Thinking and Writing in Law for postgraduate law students.
