Michele Fox

Michele Fox is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and Kinesiology at the Zuckerberg College of Health Sciences, University of Massachusetts Lowell. She serves as the Associate Program Director and Director of Clinical Education for the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. In addition to her academic roles, she practices physical therapy part-time at Dracut Physical Therapy/Scaccia Physical Therapy.

Dr. Fox holds a DPT from UMass Lowell (2006), an MS in Physical Therapy from the same institution (1994), and a BA in Biological Sciences from Cornell University (1991).

Her research interests focus on Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy, Clinical Education methodologies, Psychosocial Aspects of Healthcare, and Generational Differences in Academia. She is particularly engaged in exploring Teaching and Learning strategies, the impact of Standardized Patients in clinical training, and the dynamics between Millennials and Generation Z in educational settings.

Dr. Fox has been recognized with several teaching accolades, including the Outstanding Faculty Member Award (2018), M.A.L.E.S Physical Therapy Department Teaching Excellence Award (2018), and Excellence in Innovation and Transformational Education Award (2013).

In her role as Director of Clinical Education, she oversees student placements and collaborates with clinical partners. While specific grant details are not highlighted, her work emphasizes practical clinical education and intergenerational teaching strategies.
