Research interests include:
- Climate change effects on alpine tundra and grassland communities
- Experimental warming and precipitation manipulation studies
- Vegetation classification and ecological gradient analysis in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines
- Non-destructive monitoring of plant cover in permanent plots
Key publications (2024-2025) address biochar impacts on soil respiration, dark diversity as a biodiversity indicator, and climate change effects on grassland biomass and decomposition processes. His work often employs field experiments, vegetation surveys, and global datasets.
