Michele Burns

Michele Burns is Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Associate Physician at Boston Children's Hospital. She specializes in medical toxicology with clinical focus on plant, chemical, and pharmaceutical exposures in pediatric emergencies. Her research addresses diagnostic and management protocols for toxic exposures including cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome and acetaminophen overdose.

Dr. Burns develops evidence-based guidelines for out-of-hospital triage of poison exposures and studies patterns of pharmaceutical poisonings affecting cardiac conduction.
