Dr. Michel Belyk is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Edge Hill University, affiliated with the Psychology Health Research Institute. He holds a PhD in Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour from McMaster University (2015) and completed postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Maastricht, University of Toronto, and University College London. His research focuses on the neurobiology of voice production, integrating brain imaging, neurostimulation, and audio analysis to explore speech, singing, and emotional expression. Key areas include stammering neurobiology, vocal imitation, and applications of real-time MRI. As Local Network Lead for the UK Reproducibility Network, he promotes open research practices. His work bridges neuroscience with clinical advocacy, emphasizing collaborations with stammering communities.
