Michał Kwasek

Michał Kwasek is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Technical Fundamentals of Architectural Design, Faculty of Architecture, Gdańsk University of Technology. He concurrently serves as Vice-Dean for Student Affairs, demonstrating significant institutional responsibility. His academic career includes a Master's degree in Architecture and Urban Planning (2013) and ongoing doctoral studies focused on cast iron applications in architectural heritage under Prof. Aleksander Piwek.

Research interests span 19th-century architecture, historical conservation of cast iron structures, architectural education methodologies, and urban regeneration of industrial heritage sites. Notable work includes studies on cast-iron railway shelters, adaptive reuse of historic buildings, and business simulation techniques in architectural training.

Publications emphasize practical pedagogy through case studies and fieldwork, with 2024's work on business simulation methods highlighting innovative education approaches. Awards include the 2013 Gdańsk University of Technology Best Master's Thesis Prize for adaptive reuse research.

Active in academic service, he co-leads the Student Research Club 'BOSS' and contributes to the Department's research teams exploring kinetic façades, acoustic engineering, and digital design tools. His work bridges historical material analysis with contemporary urban challenges, maintaining a strong focus on Poland's architectural heritage.
